As President and Co-Founder of Antiquorum, Osvaldo Patrizzi has established a structure over the past few years enabling him to dedicate himself to his passion for horological appraisals, while achieving growing success in the development of his company.

Above and beyond the record-breaking auctions in which sums regularly reach several million Swiss francs for a single item, this success is also measured in terms of recognition within the watch business as a whole. Last year for example, to mark the thirtieth anniversary of Antiquorum, seven watch brands each presented a one-of-a-kind creation commemorating these three decades, intended to be auctioned for charity. Brands as varied as Breitling, Chopard, F.P. Journe, Jorg Hysek, Parmigiani Fleurier and Vacheron Constantin spontaneously volunteered their cooperation and this sale took on unexpectedly broad dimensions.

In 2005, Antiquorum is going one step further on behalf of a good cause. No less than 32 brands have been united by Osvaldo Patrizzi within a joint project, a first in watchmaking history. From independent companies to the major groups, all have agreed to take part in the “Only Watch” initiative, an auction that will take place during the Monaco Yacht Show on behalf of the Monégasque Association against Muscular Dystrophy. Its President, Luc Pettavino, has been fighting for this cause for many years. Since he is also President of the Monaco Yacht Show, he held a charity sale there last year, featuring unique luxury items (not just watches) at fixed prices, entitled “Only One” and placed under the patronage of HSH Prince Albert of Monaco. Between the latter’s renewed participation in next autumn’s “Only Watch” auction, the talent and the network of Antiquorum, the creativity and generosity of the contributing brands and the passionately dedicated supervision of Luc Pettavino, one can be confident that the proceeds will enable significant advancement of research in this area.
