Since when ?
Since I have had a lot more time! After I sold my company Bédat & Co, from 2007, I took up back country skiing quite seriously. Otherwise I have been doing heli-skiing with a group of friends for a number of years.

How did the passion come about ?
I do a lot of endurance sport. The countryside, the mountains and the spirit of freedom encouraged me to do more back country skiing, doing up to 80000 metres of downhill annually.

What is your favourite memory ?
Maybe a week we had heli-skiing in Canada, during which we were covered in powder snow and did "mushroom jumps" one after the other (a succession of jumps on accumulations of powder snow which cushion the landing) over three days.

What performance are you most proud of ?
I don't know whether or not proud is the right word, because I had the privilege of being able to train to get there, but the Patrouille des Glaciers in 2010 remains a great accomplishment. In fact, I have been training since October for 2012.

What is your favourite resort ?
I go to Villars to ski with my family, and in fact I have founded two sports shops here with partners, but I prefer Gstaad when we are with friends, and Chamonix or Zermatt for more committed skiing.

What is your ultimate dream ?
A week of back country in Switzerland, with amazing conditions, going to most legendary refuges.

How does this activity influence your professional life ?
Not at all, because my professional life gives me lots of spare time. This is a lifestyle choice that I made some years ago – I created Red8world to feed my passion without the pressure.
