In our last editorial, we left the floor to our friend and partner Osvaldo Patrizzi, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the company he heads: Antiquorum, the world’s leading watch auctioneers. Indeed, some of you are receiving this special collector’s issue thanks to him! He knows by heart most of the exceptional creations presented in this GMT XXL, sometimes even predicting that some of them will fetch record prices at auctions in 30 to 40 years’ time! Those fortunate enough to travel to Geneva this summer will perhaps enjoy an opportunity to enjoy the exhibition we are organising on the shores of Lake Léman in Antiquorum’s boutique.

Other anniversaries are celebrated in this 3rd issue of GMT XXL USA, naturally starting with the most significant evoked on the magazine cover: the Vacheron Constantin quarter millennium!
Hats off!

Each of the 24 brands presented in this luxury edition, which aspires to a quality that faithfully reflects their know-how, has its own characteristics and its own identity, whether rooted in a past with a wealth of traditions or the result of overflowing cutting-edge creativity. Fortunately, creativity and passion can have several faces and may shine from a thousand and one facets, to the delight of watch collectors and devotees of beautiful objects. We are as attached to these values as are the artisans of these brands, which are as different and complementary as the 24 hours on a world time dial. As Michael Balfour, watch journalist for the Financial Times and President of Watchinfo wrote in our magazine, “you have in your hands what we British call ‘a positive cornucopia’ of timepieces. As you turn over these pages, they tumble out into your personal memory box, and each of them is making a different impression”. We hope that you will have much pleasure in discovering the magnificent objets d’art represented by the watches and jewellery shown in the following hundred or so pages, and we can already make a date with you in the fall for the next issue. Meanwhile, feel free to visit the retailers of these brands to see these models up close, and who knows whether you might decide you cannot bear to be separated from one or more of them?!
