Audemars Piguet wins the \u201cAiguille d\u2019Or\u201d Grand Prix, and an Academy is on the horizon <\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

The \u201cOscars of Watchmaking\u201d brought together the elite of the profession at the beginning of November at the Th\u00e9\u00e2tre du L\u00e9man, on the occasion of the prize-giving ceremony of the Grand Prix d\u2019Horlogerie de Gen\u00e8ve. In his introductory remarks the President of the GPHG Foundation Raymond Loretan announced the creation of an academy of the profession that will be involved in the watch selection process in 2020, for the 20th <\/span>edition of the GPHG (and the 20th <\/span>anniversary of GMT !). Among the highlights of the evening, Audemars Piguet was acclaimed by the members of the jury, who awarded it three prizes, including the most prestigious one, but Bvlgari also distinguished itself by winning two prizes for its ladies\u2019 and men\u2019s watches, as did Voutilainen, whose eponymous founder appeared on stage on two occasions. The 1,200 guests all rose to applaud Luc Pettavino, founder of Only Watch, who received the Special Jury Prize and whose speech moved the entire assembly.
