Two major developments accompany this wind of renewal.

First of all, these premises, previously occupied by the Swatch Group under the name Cité du Temps, is now known as the “Arcades of Arts” and hosts the Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie and the Michelangelo Foundation for Creativity and Craftsmanship (which organizes the biennial Homo Faber showcase in Venice). From January 30th 2020, the “Arcades des Arts” program will begin with a first joint exhibition by the two Foundations entitled “Rare Talents”, devoted to the unique stories of craftsmen exercising rare trades and endowed with exceptional talents. The ambition is to open the Arcades to the public throughout the year with various new activities. Such will notably be the case during Watches & Wonders Geneva.

The SIHH is indeed now renamed as Watches & Wonders Geneva, scheduled for the end of April, and its Palexpo program, traditionally reserved for professionals, will be complemented by another schedule of events designed for the public in the heart of Geneva. Open days, interactive exhibitions, conferences, forums, along with the Geneva Watch Tour and the dedicated theme of the Watch Photo Awards (both developed by GMT Publishing). All this with strong participation from the brands exhibiting at Watches & Wonders and the support of the city and canton of Geneva. Until now, the FHH had given the name Watches & Wonders to its watch fairs in Hong Kong and Miami. The brand has now gone global and is based in Geneva.

[1670
