Equipped with four cathedral gongs and four hammers, it plays the four notes of the Westminster chime with a remarkably clear, pure tone. \u201cIn order to create notes as close as possible to our sound world, we decided to call upon the talents of a piano maker from Neuchatel. We worked with him on a dedicated software programme serving to determine the exact frequency (to the nearest 5 Hertz) of each gong when it came time for tuning\u201d, said Christophe Claret. Housed in a 45 mm-diameter gold and titanium case, two metals that enable ideal resonance, the openworked calibre features a sophisticated architecture distinguished by Charles X-style stepped bridges. On the back, a ring engraved like a musical stave accentuates the lyrical nature of the complication.
