Entirely developed in-house, its tourbillon regulator comprises a patented Automatic Sequential Winding (A.S.W.) system. Representing another significant technical accomplishment among the 320 parts of DW Calibre 8014, its Straumann hairspring with a Phillips curve is made from an unbreakable self-compensating, non-oxidising and anti-magnetic alloy. The perfect homogeneity and incredibly precise flat rolling of this hairspring ensure the mechanism is accurate to within one thousandth of a millimetre. The dead-beat seconds lever directly connected to the tourbillon carriages imparts a distinctive cadence to the dazzling show provided by the balance oscillations, while the energy stored and expended by this incessant dance is steadily materialised on an 180° segment displaying the power reserve at 9 o’clock. This close encounter between art and time is interpreted through an exclusive 250-piece limited edition.

What’s the connection between the 1930s New York skyline and 21st century watchmaking patents?
