The desired countdown time is set and when the pusher at 10 o\u2019clock is activated, the countdown is displayed in seconds (blue hand) and minutes (orange hand). After the given time has elapsed, the hands continue running as normal to record the duration of the regatta over a period of up to 12 hours thanks to the subdial at 3 o\u2019clock. The pusher at 8 o\u2019clock controls the chronograph zero-resetting as well as the flyback function when pressure is exercised while the hands are still in motion.
