Suddenly, Yvan Arpa pumped up the volume. The inventor moved away momentarily, during a jam between friends, from the usual round form towards the guitar-shaped watch. The brand new phenomenon is totally in keeping with the ArtyA ethic\u2009; it\u2019s bold and passionate, with a healthy dose of\u00a0 avant-garde. It is christened\u00a0\u2018Son of Sound\u2019,<\/strong>\u00a0which instantly paves the way for a variety of syncopations and some fancy fretwork, against a flurry of catchy hooks and resonating strings. With its strong identity value, the unusual form grabs the eye even in the darkest corners of a murky music venue. The vision first crystallized in Geneva in response to a personal challenge and was subsequently lent form by the tried and tested know-how of a case and prototype manufacturer, SC2, belonging to Yvan Arpa and one of his partners. There is nothing figurative about the push-pieces. Inspired by the famous tuning pegs on a guitar or violin, they all have a very genuine function\u2009: one is the\u00a0start<\/em>\u00a0or\u00a0stop<\/em>\u00a0button for the chronograph, the other performs the reset (or\u00a0reset to zero<\/em>), the third controls the\u00a0time-setting<\/em>\u00a0and the fourth the\u00a0date-setting<\/em>\u00a0functions.
