After Beijing, London and New Delhi last year, the Watchmaking Oscars are planning to reveal the 2015 selection to inhabitants of Dubai, Hong Kong and a new destination in Asia this fall. Back in Switzerland, the 72 watches chosen by the 24 members of the jury of international experts will be displayed at the Cité du Temps in Geneva during the second half of October, up until the ceremony to be held at the Grand Théâtre de Genève on October 29th 2015. Afterwards the winning watches will be displayed at the SalonQP in London. The 2016 edition will need to find another venue, since the Grand Théâtre will be closed for two years to undergo renovation and extension work. As has been the case every year since the GPHG has been managed by a Foundation (since 2011), one-quarter of the multi-disciplinary jury chaired by Aurel Bacs has been renewed (the list may be consulted at gphg.org). The public will once again be invited to make its choice among all the selected watches, thus contributing to the awarding of the Public Prize alongside the 12 categories in which brands are free to submit the candidacies of one or several watches. The winner of the supreme distinction, the “Aiguille d’Or” (won by Breguet last year), is chosen by the jury from among all the watches in the categories shown belong.
