With around 50 industry personalities, more than 30 exhibiting brands, an amphitheater hosting some 15 watchmaking forums, a creative hub for interaction, watchmaking workshops and two monobrand themed exhibition areas (Chopard and Rolex), the major United Arab Emirates retailer Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons delighted watchmaking lovers with its fourth Dubai Watch Week. Especially since the diversity of brands presenting their new products spans a broad range of positioning, from the affordable luxury of Frédérique Constant to the very high-end creations by Jacob & Co., Bvlgari and Ulysse Nardin, as well as some new gems such as Trilobe. Visitors enjoyed a chance not only to discover their current collections and engage in discussions with brand CEOs and founders, but also to experience world premieres (Armin Strom, De Bethune) and limited editions specifically designed for the Emirates (e. g. Breitling’s Aviator 8 Etihad) unveiled to the public for the first time ; as well as seven limited editions created in collaboration with Seddiqi (with brands including H. Moser & Cie. and Hublot). The event was attended by collectors and journalists, along with other key stakeholders in the watchmaking community : the GPHG with its award-winning watches, Watch Photo Awards with a dedicated exhibition, Only Watch personified by Luc Pettavino, Baselworld via its CEO Michel Loris-Melikoff who took part in a forum, and WatchBox with whom Seddiqi has teamed up to sell certified pre-owned watches. The next edition will take place in 2021.
