ZENITH, pedal to the floor

For the third consecutive year, Zenith took its place aboard the cars competing in the “Tour Auto Optic 2000”, a race organized by Peter Auto and renowned for the authenticity as well as the variety of the historical cars taking part. The 230 competitors of this 26th edition set off from Paris on April 24th, headin g for Biarritz via various stages taking them to Saint-Malo, Nantes, Limoges and Touloise. The journey ended several days later with a win for the British team composed of Andrew Smith and James Cottingham, driving a Ford GT 40.

To honor this partnership, Zenith presented the Chronomaster El Primero Open Tour Edition, featuring a dial and strap with three blue, white and red stripes, a reference to the rally’s French flag and a token of belonging to the dedicated Tour Auto collection. This 2017 edition notably includes the famous 11 o’clock dial opening enabling one to admire the heart of the automatic el Primero 4061 chronograph caliber with its 36,000 vibrations per hour driving a tenth-of-a-second display, its COSC-chronometer-certified precision and its integrated column-wheel construction.
