Partner of the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, one of the world’s most prestigious classic car races, A. Lange & Söhne presented the winner of the 2015 edition with an exclusive version of the Lange 1 Time Zone. Brand CEO Wilhelm Schmid personally awarded the Lange 1 Time Zone “Como Edition” specially developed and produced for this occasion to the victor in the “Best of Show” category. This one-of-a-kind creation is distinguished from the customary version by its white gold case of which the back is adorned with the insignia of the Concorso d’Eleganza. Moreover, in tribute to the event, Central European Time (CET) is exceptionally represented by the town of Como, where the competition takes place. The Lange 1 holds a special place in the history of the brand. It was the first watch launched after the renaissance of A. Lange & Söhne. The Time Zone retains the distinctive style of this line, while adding a well thought-out complication serving to read the time in two time zones. Based on the hand-wound Lange movement, Caliber L031.1, this watch naturally features all the characteristics of the Lange 1 models – including a twin barrel ensuring a more than three-day power reserve, the patented outsize date display, four screwed gold chatons, a balance secured with screws and equipped with swan’s-neck regulator as well as a hand-engraved balance-cock.
