As with each yearly Opus, Harry Winston has caused yet another sensation in the field of fine watchmaking with the Opus Eleven born from the creative talent of independent watchmaker Denis Giguet, who was asked to design this marvel of ingenuity. The sheer complexity of the case sets the tone right from the start, while a close-up look at its dial reveals an explosive temperament that seems to decompose time every hour on the hour. Beneath the large sapphire dome, the hour display explodes into anarchy every 60 minutes: appearing in the stage-centre, the hour numeral disintegrates into complete chaos, before being reconstituted in a fraction of a second. The stunning visual enchantment is further enhanced by the minutes displayed on a semi-jumping disc for the tens and a running disc for the units, as well as the regular motion of the large titanium balance-wheel housed in a lateral pavilion.
