75-PIECE LIMITED EDITION

Watchmaker of the extreme Richard Mille has just presented the RM 50-03 McLaren F1, the world’s lightest split-seconds chronograph tourbillon watch : a compendium of innovation weighing just 38 grams – including the strap – and housing a mere 7-gram movement ! The launch of this timepiece also represents the first expression of a scheduled ten-year collaborative endeavor between the Swiss watch brand and the McLaren car manufacturer, both of which nurture the same passion for modern technology, avant-garde design and precision engineering. Behind the scenes, the two manufacturers worked together, in conjunction with Manchester University, on developing a new ultra-light and ultra-sturdy case for this limited edition. The bezel and case of the RM 50-03 McLaren F1 are made of Graph TPTTM, a TPTTM carbon whose physical properties have been considerably increased by the injection of graphene, a revolutionary nanomaterial six times lighter but 200 times more resistant than steel. A combination of materials backed by extreme skeleton-working and creating an impressively airy result.
