Chanel : Five stars in Geneva

The spirit and codes of Mademoiselle Chanel adorn the 500 square metres – of which around one quarter is devoted to watch and jewellery – forming the Chanel boutique located in the heart of the Geneva Watch Tour on the Rue du Rhône. After three years of renovations, this new temple of luxury designed by American interior designer and architect Peter Marino, joins the legend of the 185 Chanel boutiques worldwide. Worthy of a five star hotel in Karl Lagerfeld’s colours, the decoration of the two floors connected by a staircase enhanced with giant necklaces in tribute to Haute Joaillerie illustrates the different universes of the brand: accessories, fashion, home, watches and jewellery.

The inspiration for innumerable works of art, as well as the objects covering the floors and walls such as custom-made drapes and carpets, often focus on themes dear to Coco Chanel : from stars to the sun, bows to feathers, not to mention the lion. Louis XV chairs and contemporary works of art look fantastic between fitting rooms as large as VIP lounges and watch display windows housing the most recent limited editions. Having paid a visit to Geneva the week before the inauguration, the good fairies brought the brand the most beautiful of all gifts : the Artistic Crafts Watch Prize in the Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix.
