GPHG : The Watchmaking Oscars have their own stars

The prize-giving ceremony for the 15th Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève saw 18 prizes awarded at the Grand Théâtre de Genève on October 29th, of which four were won by watches for women. Alongside the Ladies’ Watch Prize presented to Hublot for its Big Bang Broderie (see Fashion article on page 62), the jury of international experts honored Audemars Piguet for its Diamond Punk (Jewellery Watch Prize), Fabergé for its Lady Compliquée Peacock (Ladies’ High-Mech Prize) and Piaget for its Extremely Piaget Double Sided Cuff Watch (“Revival” Prize). Without laying claim to star status, GPHG Director Carine Maillard was congratulated onstage by numerous speakers for the quality of the event’s organization and its international reach.
