H. Moser & Cie – FHH – Piaget – Gc : It’s raining talents

H. Moser & Cie at the Entrepreneur of the Year awards
H. Moser & Cie sponsored the prize-giving ceremony of the Swiss “Entrepreneur of the Year 2013” competition organised by Ernst & Young, and in doing so paid tribute to the entrepreneurial spirit inherited from its founder. After 20 successful years at the head of his watch business in St. Petersburg, he returned to Switzerland where he distinguished himself by modernising the infrastructure in his home town of Schaffhausen. The current competition honours men of his stature in five different categories. H. Moser & Cie, for whom this participation appeared an entirely self-evident choice, presented an exclusive watch to each of the prize-winners.

FHH : A Tribute to Passion and Talent
Each year, the Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie (FHH) and the Julius Baer bank honour two personalities for their contribution to the prestige of the watch industry. The “Hommage à la Passion” prize was awarded to Walter Lange, the man who in 1990 orchestrated the revival of A. Lange & Söhne that had been wrested from his family after World War II. The sheer strength of his conviction has enabled him to restore it to its former glory. The “Hommage au Talent” prize went to a brilliant watchmaker with the ways and means to combine mechanical complexity and temporal poetry : Jean-Marc Wiederrecht.

Piaget and the young people of the HEAD
Piaget and the Geneva University of Art and Design (HEAD) have consolidated their recently signed partnership on behalf of students of Jewellery, Watch & Accessory design with the awarding of the Piaget Young Talents and Piaget Watch Workshop prizes. The former was based on a freely chosen topic for students with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree taking part in the Young Talent competition ; and a Miss Protocole and jewellery-watch projects for third-year Bachelor’s degree students involved in the Workshop. The three prizes in each of the categories were presented by Mr Philippe Léopold-Metzger, CEO of Piaget, in the experimental area of the FLUX Laboratory.

Gc : Dream Ambassadors
As part of its “Realize your dream” advertising campaign, the Gc watch brand is launching a TV spot ad shot in Turin, Italy. It features the up-and-coming stars of the English group Amore, especially tenor David Webb and mezzo-soprano Victoria Gray, respectively wearing a Gc-1 Class chronograph and a Gc Mini Chic. Gc and Amore are driven by a desire to share their respective fields of expertise – Swiss watchmaking quality and opera – with the broadest possible audience. Both are proud to be giving some resolutely on-trend exposure to the time-honoured arts they so deeply respect.
