Within the space of just 16 years, Chanel has managed to raise its J12 to icon status, while asserting the cult colors of the Maison in a daring all-black watch or a diametrically opposite all-white model – as well as making them from ceramic, a material not previously seen in the watch industry. In 2016, the sporting spirit of the J12 is strongly concentrated within a ceramic and steel case drastically reduced in size to measure just 19mm. The excessively small J12 XS goes for full-on high-fashion and contrasts, by appearing on a slim patent calfskin strap, itself worn on a powerful cuff with seven diamond-set loops ; or fitted onto a lambskin mitten in a 150-piece limited edition. The cuff watch comes in black or white versions, while the two other all-black models display the bold and self-assured allure of an XL leather luxury accessory. Feminine, paradoxical and precious, the J12 XL juggles with paradoxes and can also be worn without the glove or the cuff, simply on its patent calfskin strap.
