Specially personalised for Only Watch 2013, the very first watch in this limited series was auctioned for 20% more than its retail price, thereby reflecting collectors’ interest in Cyrus, a brand with a powerful identity backed by original and patented technical content. The exclusive movement of the Kambys line stems from a cooperative endeavour with watchmaker and horological design engineer Jean-François Mojon (Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix award-winner), serving to power three singularly innovative display functions for a full seven days, starting with is the patented power-reserve display at 3 o’clock symbolised by three rings sliding along a vertical axis : the two first each represent two days of autonomy, and the third three days. The trilogy-type approach also applies to the seconds, symbolised by three hands, which are superimposed every 20 seconds at 7 o’clock. Finally, a secret animation between 9 and 12 o’clock and triggered by the 9 o’clock crown reveals a sequence of motifs that may be personalised, including the Cyrus coin (the first in the history of humankind, produced in 500 BC). A fine example of what can happen when the 12th Art offers a fascinating take on history.
