The Ocean Dual Time Monochrome interprets the enigmatic “arrow of time” – the symbol of the fact that time always appears to elapse in the same direction, whereas the laws of physics allow it to be viewed in both directions – in a particularly poetic manner on a dial coated with a layer of oxidised platinum, hand brushed to express the inexorable movement of time in a truly unique fashion. From a functional point of view, the watch displays two time zones, each associated with a day/night indicator (a rare feature), along with a large date displaying independent numbers that appear vertically, in another original touch. In the centre, the brand’s characteristic shuriken confirms that the movement is in operation. As for the signature case with three arches, it challenges time with the Zalium from which it is made – an alloy made of aluminium and zirconium exclusive to Harry Winston and that is both light and highly resistant to corrosion.
