The iconic Hermès silk scarf is no longer the only square-shaped star. Brilliantly designed by Marc Berthier, the Carré H watch first appeared on the watchmaking scene in 2010. Hermès is signaling the grand comeback of this model with a new version featuring slightly revisited aesthetics. The polished and beadblasted steel square case is a few millimeters wider and distinctly more modern. With its softened edges and angles, the curved profile of its case middle and its cylindrical crystal, the Carré H creates a fascinating shimmer by reflecting light off every facet. The perfect balance between shapes, materials and depth effects extends onto the dial with its straight-angle guilloché pattern, punctuated by an exclusive font as well as faceted hands and numerals. This quintessentially elegant watch is a complete graphic success interpreted in two dial versions – black or anthracite – and beating to the tune of a Manufacture Hermès self-winding movement.
