Few watchmakers other than Vacheron Constantin so successfully bridge the gap between excelling in the field of Fine Watchmaking and in that of sporting elegance. The brand’s broad range of skills has resulted in two recent creations perfectly illustrating this ability. The Malte Tourbillon Collection Excellence Platine, issued in a 50-piece limited edition, asserts its status as an exceptional collector’s timepiece. Housed in a platinum case, the tourbillon bearing the seconds hand radiates an aura of self-evident distinction, perfectly in harmony with the refined new lines of the Malte collection. Alongside it, the Overseas Chronograph reflects the world of sport and timekeeping performance. In addition to displaying the hours, minutes, small seconds at 6 o’clock and chronograph functions, it also provides an oversized date display through a twin aperture at 12 o’clock. It will be available worldwide as of summer 2014 and could well prove an ideal companion for watching the World Cup football matches to be played in Brazil.
