Founded on the shores of Lake Geneva in 2008 by an industrialist with a passion for watchmaking, high technology and motor racing (see next page), Rebellion Timepieces offers an original and daring blend of the best of these worlds. Nothing is left to chance in its quest for extraordinary quality and performance. Produced in very small series endowed with larger-than-life personalities, Rebellion timepieces are designed for strong individuals and intense competitors. There are no compromises when it comes to the design, which combines great complexity with unique character, nor the materials (titanium, carbon, gold, ceramic-steel, sapphire), which are pushed to extremes.

Passion, independence and rigorous discipline were the driving forces behind its launch in the midst of the economic crisis and continue to guide its day-to-day development. In 2015, the entrepreneur-shareholder gave a new boost to the brand by introducing a new collection and setting up a new management team. Building on 25 years of international experience in the watchmaking field, Philippe Dubois is gearing up to shift into turbo mode at the controls of Rebellion Timepieces. The highly responsive and professional little structure is designed to be in close touch with the market and customers, by consistently taking the personalization of its models further and further.

A symbol of the new surge of Rebellion, the Wraith Drive collection targets a broader audience with a more affordable price positioning. Loyal to the Rebellion DNA, this new model launched in 2015 reflects the sporty, high-tech nature conveyed since its birth. A steel or black DLC-coated chassis, six combinations of materials and colors and two types of wristband are available to thrill-lovers. These include the ultra-sporty high-resistance NyTech, whose color is picked up on the rubber of the pushbuttons. The automobile world remains omnipresent on the Wraith Drive, whether in the powerful stainless steel case with tachymetric bezel or the lively seconds dial evoking wheel rims spinning around at top speed. Pole position is not far off, although it is still held by the Predator.

Rebellion’s best-selling model created in collaboration with the designer Eric Giroud, the Predator line comes in three-hand, chronograph and monopusher versions. A number of exterior options enable devotees of design and fine mechanics to chose the finishes that suit them best and to adapt them to their wishes. The robust, high-performance and extremely adaptable Predator embodies a perfect technical and aesthetic blend of cutting-edge mechanics and luxury watchmaking. Brake disks and pedals are two of the automobile features subtly integrated into the intense design of this timepiece, along with a honeycomb dial, the use of numerous technical materials and the complex multilayered case structure. The latter is composed of steel with or without ceramic and red gold with or without ceramic. The varied nature of materials is reflected in the superbly decorated movement visible through the sapphire case-back and featuring steel, carbon and ceramic.

Also a tribute to motor-racing, the T1000 is built for performance : its T1K aluminum engine is equipped with a revolutionary patented energy distribution system ensuring 10000 hours of endurance (meaning 40 days and 40 nights !). This world record is so radically innovative that it called for three years of research, development and adjustments. It is also exceptional in terms of its oversized rectangular shape and its design that completely destructures traditional movements. This airy architecture is expressed in three dimensions, notably with vertical wheels and mechanical-chain transmission systems. Its chassis is precision-machined from a single block of grade 5 titanium. The original and elegant lines of its bodywork entirely reveal the exclusive ‘engine’ through a sapphire crystal that follows the curves so as to highlight its originality.

Rigidity, lightness, technical sophistication, endurance : the 540 Magnum is developed with the same passion as the finest endurance cars. Who will snap up the one-of-a-kind Only Watch ?

Unique bodywork, exceptional technical material, exclusive engines, standout performance: Rebellion Timepiece is born of the same passion for perfect mechanics as that which drives Rebellion Racing. This Swiss racing team is powered by the same spirit of independence. In the merciless world of endurance rallies, Rebellion Racing is the only private team to have succeeded in competing with the car-manufacturer teams over the past few years, and has achieved a track record as lengthy as the 24 Hours of Le Mans race. Which is saying something…

Rebellion Only Watch REB-7 Forged Carbon Regulator was worn during 24 Hours of Le Mans by Nicolas Prost and will be delivered along with the talented young driver’s signed helmet and gloves. Just like a high-performance race car, the chassis and the architecture of the REB-7 Regulator are designed from the outset to be ultra light while retaining maximum rigidity, through intelligent design and operation of the latest technology materials with forged carbon. A view through the display back reveals bright colors highlighting the automatic winding rotor that recalls the wheels and brake disks of high-performance racing cars. Renowned watch designer Eric Giroud designed the case of the REB-7 Regulator, which, despite its imposing size, is surprisingly light and comfortable thanks to the choice of forged carbon fiber for the case. Forged carbon fiber is said to be turbostratic, meaning that the fibers contain intertwined and folded sheets of carbon atoms making them extremely strong, nearly unbreakable. Forged carbon offers a superior strength to weight ratio than traditional woven carbon fiber as well as many metal alloys. Developed to the exacting specifications of Rebellion’s master watchmaker Laurent Besse, the movement of the REB- 7 is audacious in terms of both technical innovation and strong visual experience: a suspended subdial at 12 o’clock displays the hours while minutes and seconds are shown centrally, and the date at 6 o’clock completes the indications. After the eye-catching electric blue on the hour and minutes hands and the inscription “Piece Unique” at the bottom of the dial, the viewer’s gaze − unhindered by a conventional dial − is drawn into the intricacies of the movement. It says much about the clarity of purpose in the design that the visible micro-mechanics in no way hinder the legibility of reading the time, the latter being an essential quality in a regulator.

Beating at the heart of the 540 Magnum collection that has given rise to the Only Watch model, the original Manufacture-made movement is distinguished by an oversized flying tourbillon. Caliber REB-T14 stands out in terms of its volume, its sophisticated technical nature and its exceptional performance (see technical specifications). Each detail expresses and embodies the passion for motor racing, including the intense design that plays with shade and light effects. Its cutting-edge materials – forged carbon fiber, ceramicized magnesium, titanium and aluminum – endow this outsized model with exceptional rigidity, lightness and performance. All protected by a complex highly masculine case, also made of forged carbon fiber.
