WISeKey, digital guardian angel

Specialised in digital identification since 1999, in 2008, this Geneva-based computer security company created a division dedicated to brand protection. Using its skill base in the realm of personal identity protection through digital certification, WISeKey applied its technology and know-how to fight counterfeiting which is a growing evil. Their solution is already used by a number of big brands. Be it authentication of origins, sales management (even through an indirect network), real time control of a possible market or a more targeted marketing approach through direct interaction with its clients, the WISeAuthentic programme protects both brands and their clients, while strengthening the connection between them.

Concretely, a card with a digital certificate that is unique to the watch and a card reader are delivered with the watch at the time of the purchase. This card becomes an electronic guarantee when activated by the boutique and follows the creation throughout its lifecycle. Easy to manage for the watch brand, this digital solution brings three added-value elements : firstly to protect their clients and creations with bank level digital technology that facilitates online authenticity verification. Secondly, it enhances the value of sales networks by protecting them from parallel markets through the use of an electronic guarantee activation device for certified dealers, thus providing sellout information in real time. Finally, this technology provides the end client with access to a CRM platform with a direct link to the brand, the starting point for exclusive, digital communication.

In search of constant innovation, WISeKey has just signed a strategic partnership agreement with the Inside Secure company, within the context of developing a storage medium for WISeAuthentic’s digital certificate. The card is no longer just a chip card but can take any form and be read without any contact using a “Smartphone”. These are NFC chips (Near Field Communication). In addition, WISeKey has developed WISeAuthentic Software for smaller independent watchmakers wishing to equip their limited collections with the same services. Very light and entirely hosted by WISeKey, it provides them with the same services as they work through their production.

Trimaran,

inventor of the realistic 3D race

Born in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Olivier Emery finds himself dreaming in front of drawings done by his uncle Jean-Bernard Siegfried, author of magnificent exploded views of watches by great brands produced with traditional tools such as an airbrush.  Head of Trimaran which he founded in Paris in 1991, he is responsible for bringing big sports events the best digital imaging technology based on geographical data, 3D, visual effects and direct integration of GPS data. The televised presentation of the Tour de France race for the past ten years? Done by Trimaran.

Recently, this leading company launched the Georacing solution that it developed – a GPS tracking and 3D visualisation technology in real time for outdoor competitions, whose first application has been used for the past two years in regattas. From the Voiles de St Barth to the Tour de France à la Voile via the RC44, the Kieler Woche or the Olympic week in Hyères, Trimaran accompanies all these great sailing events and provides an ideal showcase for their official timekeepers, whose visibility and role have increased significantly. Recently, other disciplines have also called upon its services, such as car racing, foot races, and horse racing etc.

The team consists of a creative and technological mix, enabling the creation of digital products of the highest quality. Sports and technology fans will appreciate the effective symbiosis of these two elements as showcased by Trimaran, as will viewers of the Route de l’Horlogerie film available on www.worldtempus.com  and www.routedelhorlogerie.com.
