FHH

The Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie kicked off the ceremonies commemorating the 150th anniversary of bilateral relations and friendship between Switzerland and Japan by holding an exhibition entitled “The Conquest of Time” in Tokyo in February. On this occasion, the Foundation’s president, Fabienne Lupo, attended the inaugural ceremony accompanied by the President of the Swiss Confederation, Mr Didier Burkhalter.

Girard-Perregaux

Girard-Perregaux announced its partnership with the Neuchâtel Ethnographic Museum (MEN) in the context of the Imagine Japan exhibition that will open on June 19th and which will exhibit pocket watches imported from Japan by François Perregaux, the protagonist of the first Swiss watchmaking steps in the Land of the Rising Sun. Mandated by the Watchmaking Union to found an export fair, he settled in Yokahama in 1860, thus becoming the first Swiss watch trader in the Japan, a few years before the friendship and trade treaty signed by the authorities of the two countries.
