In 2017, Piaget is celebrating 60 years of a specialty that has earned it many successes and records : ultra-thin watches. The story that began with the manual-winding Caliber 9P, followed shortly thereafter by the automatic 12P, led to the creation of the dedicated Altiplano collection in 1998 as well as to the development of gradually perfected versions worthy of the 21st century – and admirably epitomizing a style synonymous with supreme elegance. The two models kicking off this anniversary year are all about discretion, featuring the brand’s historical deep blue shade and central cross adorning the finely sunburst dial. These Piaget Altiplano 38 mm and Piaget Altiplano Automatic 43 mm logically feature the collection’s signature baton-type hands and slender single or double hour-markers. The latter model gives an additional nod to history with the word “Automatic” spelt out in retro-style script.
