Frédérique Constant is distinguished by an unusual positioning in the field of mechanical watches. Its leitmotif is to create classically styled timepieces in keeping with Swiss traditions and at particularly reasonable prices. The brand intends to reach a broad audience of enthusiasts ranging from the most enlightened connoisseurs to complete novices. The Classics Manufacture Worldtimer is an exemplary model thanks to an extremely user-friendly operating mode despite the simultaneous 24 time-zone display. Adjustments of this complication greatly appreciated by keen travellers, as well as of local time and the date, are all performed via the crown.

In 2013, Frédérique Constant launched two new models presented in pink gold-plated steel cases. The more classic model features a silver-toned dial with central guilloché pattern, Roman numerals and oxidized black hands. On the more sophisticated version, the dial is adorned with a central globe motif, the numerals are replaced by round luminescent hour-markers, and the hands are an exquisite deep blue. Both are driven by the in-house self-winding FC-718 caliber of which the traditional circular-grained and circular Côtes de Genève finishes may be admired through a sapphire case-back. Each is issued in a 1,888-piece limited edition.

User friendliness is also a key feature of the new Slimline Moonphase Manufacture model, with the crown serving to adjust all functions. When left in its normal position, it serves to wind the watch, while pulling it out provides access to time-setting. The intermediate position is reserved for adjusting the date and the moon phase – the former by clockwise rotation and the latter in a counter-clockwise direction. The Manufacture movement is a self-winding model visible through the sapphire case-back and which is naturally circular-grained and adorned with a Côtes de Genève motif.

In terms of design, the Slimline Moonphase Manufacture is a timeless watch indicating the hours and minutes with restrained elegance by means of leaf-shaped hands sweeping over slender baton-shaped hour-markers. The moon-phase display is remarkably accurate thanks to an innovative visual reproduction “laser ablation” technique. Frédérique Constant offers a collection comprising five variations. The two steel versions are distinguished from each other by their silver-toned or blue dial and their respectively beige-stitched blue or black strap. The single rose gold-plated steel version features a silver-toned dial enhanced with hands and hour-markers matching the case, and teamed with a brown strap ; whereas the two solid rose gold versions come with either a silver-toned or chocolate brown dial, while their hands and hour-markers are all rose gold-plated and their straps are both brown.
