Espace Connaisseur in Les Ambassadeurs Geneva boutique

In addition to presenting the most exclusive models, Les Ambassadeurs regularly holds private themed evenings here this area, where connoisseurs are invited to attend lectures or take part in workshops run by experts.

Les Ambassadeurs is a prestigious Swiss boutique retailer mainly dedicated to watchmaking and representing over 20 watch brands ranging from classic to the most avant-garde and embodying the essence of Switzerland’s excellence in this domain. Like all boutiques of Les Ambasseurs, its Geneva store features the Espace Connaisseur, a dedicated area where comfortably seated connoisseurs can enjoy a fine cognac or a cigar, leaf through specialized magazines and discover the most exclusive models issued as one-of-a-kind creations or limited series.

Urwerk and its futuristic watches that explore new ways of displaying time are entirely at home in such a setting. In 2013, the UR-110 has been introduced in two platinum limited editions highlighting exceptional finishes, each exemplifying a different approach. The more daring of the two, the UR-100PTH, plays on the contrast between black and red. The titanium case is topped by a platinum bezel that has been reinforced to create an armor-type effect and masked in black to defy conventions. Only the weight of the model betray the presence of the precious metal beneath. The aura of refinement stems from the micro sandblasting and a matt finish. At the heart of the watch beats the automatic UR 9.01 caliber with satellite complication, in which three hours modules move in turn along the minutes arc.

Driven by a desire to explore uncharted territory, Urwerk has set up an experimental laboratory where the wildest projects spring to life. This facility led in 2011 to the development of the UR-1001 Zeit Device pocket-watch, a super complication capable of measuring time in seconds, minutes, hours, day/night, months, years, hundreds of years and even up to a thousand years. The brand is now heralding a whole new era with the first precision watch boasting integrated intelligence. While still at the concept stage, the EMC will be a chronometer of which the precision timing rate, which varies according to environment and lifestyle factors, will be monitored and adjusted at any time by its owner. It will enable readings and analysis of information that has thus far been available only to watchmakers equipped with the appropriate devices.
