October 2011 : Vincent Perriard, Jean-Marc Pontroué, Michele, Marc Michel-Amadry, Michele Sofisti

Vincent Perriard is launching a new brand. After leaving Technomarine and taking a year to think things over, weighing the pros and cons of the many requests he received, this conceptual hyperactive personality has announced his grand comeback for Baselworld 2012 (see Zoom column on page 85).

Jean-Marc Pontroué  continues his career within the Richemont Group as the newly appointed CEO of Roger Dubuis since October 3rd 2011. The time spent at the head of Montblanc by this early riser with a passion for running certainly had a significant impact, and his talent as a dynamic speaker will doubtless continue to attract journalists to the SIHH press conferences.

Marc Michel-Amadry  moves from modern to vintage watches by joining Sotheby’s Switzerland as Managing Director. Will this newly created position on a strategic yet restricted market represent a lasting source of enthusiasm for this globetrotter accustomed to global challenges such as he had previously handled as CEO and Artistic Director of the Ebel and Concord brands ?

Michele Sofisti is shouldering additional responsibilities by taking on the position of CEO within the Sowind Group, alongside his role as CEO of Gucci Group Watches and Jewellery division. His experience notably acquired as CEO of Swatch, Omega and Christian Dior Watches will be shared with Stefano Macaluso, Managing Director of Girard-Perregaux, and Massimo Macaluso, Managing Director of JeanRichard and of the group’s industrial assets.

Brice Lechevalier is editor-in-chief of GMT and Skippers, which he co-founded in 2000 and 2001 respectively. He has also been CEO of WorldTempus since it joined the GMT Publishing stable, of which he is director and joint shareholder. In 2012 he created the Geneva Watch Tour, and he has been an advisor to the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève since 2011. Also closely involved in sailing, he has published the magazine of the Société Nautique de Genève since 2003, and was one of the founders of the SUI Sailing Awards in 2009 and the Concours d’Elégance for motor boats at the Cannes Yachting Festival in 2015.
