Pearls in every setting

A cascade of precious pearls

This is an established tendency at Cartier, which is featuring the pearl in its new Mille et une Heures collection of unique pieces. This magical line of watches with secret spring closures is meant to be an equal mixture of the precious and the inventive. While the animal theme returns to play a starring role, myriads of pearls form the setting for poetic and enchanting scenes such as the exceptional secret-spring watch decorated with two diamond-set birds, an engraved rubellite and a cascade of 1513 Akoya pearls with a total weight of 211.82 carats.

Queen of Sheba

A very eastern inspiration has influenced Chanel, which is revisiting the world of the pearls so dear to Coco Chanel. In a very surprising way, pearls have invited themselves into the colourful stagings that give pride of place to splendour and opulence. The pink of sapphires combined with rubellites, diamonds and cultured pearls creates a luminous counterpoint that gives the Secrets d’Orient collection its fiery brilliance. Rings, bracelets, necklaces and earrings bring out a very “Arabian Nights” spirit that will be just the thing to light up spring.

Light as a feather

Delicacy, lightness, freshness… The grace of Morganne Bello’s Délice Mimi Perle collection is enchanting. There are bracelets, necklaces, earrings and rings in subtle variations with white, violet, grey and salmon-pink freshwater pearls on white, yellow or pink gold. Like a dream of weightlessness…

The dark side of the pearl

Chopard highlights pearls in a series of pieces that belie to the decorous, staid reputation of these curvaceous, rounded jewels. Amazingly, chocolate pearls go very well with the blue of amethysts, especially in this pair of white gold earrings set with amethysts (4 carats) and diamonds, each decorated with a white pearl (total 48 carats) and a chocolate pearl (total 47 carats).

Virginal beauty

It is hard to find anything more classic than this necklace by Harry Winston. Classic, yet truly magnificent! Some 23 South Sea pearls ranging in diameter from 15 to 19.3 mm are lined up in a harmonious rank extended by a clasp with 72 brilliant-cut diamonds (6.45 carats). A fine example of minimalism and simplicity that lets the beauty of the pearls shine through with no other special tricks.

The zip is chic!

Refined geometric forms, Art Deco inspiration and multicoloured stones typify the new interpretations of Van Cleef & Arpels’ famous Zip necklace that were unveiled at Couture Week. Making a connection between the Haute Joaillerie company and the fashion world, the four Zip necklaces play on elegance and daring. Some white cultured pearls take part in this inventiveness, mingling with diamonds, lapis lazuli and white mother-of-pearl.

Dewdrops

Like dewdrops, the pearls seem to land on diamond-set flowers in this princely set signed by Bogh-Art. Here, the jeweller decided to alternate the purity of the pearls with that of the diamonds, which total 88.84 carats.
