Eterna : Football in Hamburg and Southampton

Eterna takes its place on football fields in the United Kingdom and Germany, notably through two partnerships on behalf serving a good cause.

As part of the new partnership between Eterna and Southampton FC, three players were entrusted with the mission of kicking the ball into the five holes of the Eterna logo from the 16-yard line. Lambert, Lallana and Lea needed no more than half the allotted five minutes to accomplish their mission. The club’s official timekeeper then donated a KonTiki watch in a presentation box autographed by the players and which will be auctioned by the Saints Foundation in order to raise funds for the training centre.

In parallel, the Swiss watch manufacturer has become the sponsor of the Hamburger Sport-Verein football club by supplying the new Bundesliga HSV clock which is unique in its kind in Germany: installed in the Imtech arena, it indicates how long the association has belonged to the Bundesliga in years, days, minutes and seconds. In addition to the branding, the two-year contract foresees a wide range of marketing opportunities. With Eterna has its horological partner, the HSV returns to its early days in the Bundesliga: in the historic am Rothenbaum stadium, an Eterna clock already indicated the playing time. Eterna’s Vice President David Vallata said: “We are proud of the close ties with the Hamburger SV because of our shared past. After the old stadium clock stopped working, we considered our intervention as almost a duty. We are very proud to be supplying the new Bundesliga clock and we hope it will indicate the HSV’s membership of the Liga for the next 50 years”.
