Having been launched into orbit last autumn in all fine store windows, the new Rendez-Vous collection from the “Grande Maison” in the Vallée de Joux is adding a poetic touch to its diamond-studded mechanical model. A shooting star indicator positioned via the second crown serves to set a rendezvous that thus becomes truly unforgettable. This is the most visible aspect of the technical expertise of Jaeger-LeCoultre, which also displays aesthetic know-how  throughout, from the gem-set case to the lapis lazuli dial and the finishing of the automatic movement. The intricate workings of the latter’s 230 parts are visible through the sapphire crystal case-back which also reproduces a zodiac calendar that evolves throughout the year as if by magic. The Rendez-Vous Celestial brings the Milky Way within reach, lending a new dimension to the 12th Art.
