March is the month for automobile and watchmaking aficionados in Switzerland, with two shows taking place in Geneva and Basel respectively. In creating the new œuvre JC 1588 Sport, Julien Coudray 1518 unites devotees of these two worlds. The idea was to offer the first automatic movement to pick up the numerals and letters of a car license plate. This information appears on the back of the model, engraved on the miniaturized oscillating weight and made in solid 18K gold and traditional grand feu enamel. In terms of its exterior, the watch extends the dual effect with a combination of titanium and solid 18K 5N gold. Various shades of grey are featured on the strap and dial. The titanium crown guard and the screw-locked crown in solid 18K 5N gold evoke traditional elegance with a modern touch. Through an aperture at 12 o’clock, an enameled gold drop motif appears after four years of operation as a reminder that the watch is due for a maintenance service. A well-oiled mechanism!e of these limited-edition watches).
