Tudor’s Heritage watches are much more than just re-editions. They revisit historical models to create new icons and the Tudor Heritage Black Bay diver’s watch is a remarkable example of successfully blending past, present and future. It derives its overall lines and its cambered dial and crystal from the 1954 Submariner, while its imposing crown dubbed ‘Big Crown’ stems from a 1958 model and its ‘snowflake’ hands from various model produced between 1969 and the early 1980s. The modern touch is notably added by the upsized case, refined finishing and interchangeable straps. First launched in 2012, the Black Bay was named the winner of the ‘Revival’ category by the jury of the 2013 Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix. It now returns in a version taking the opposite approach to the first model, with the warm shimmering effect giving way to cold tones that highlight the technical character typical of diving instruments.
